Competencies and tools for internal auditors in the public sector
Development of a set of specific competencies for the role of internal auditor in the public sector, alongside HR tools for assessing candidates during recruitment.
Work within the “Accountable Public Finance Management Platform” project (UNDP, 2021). The following were developed:
- Specific competencies relevant to the role and position of internal auditor in the public sector.
- A set of HR tools for assessing competencies during recruitment, calibrated to the target group — managers of public fund beneficiaries.
- Information materials for potential candidates enabling them to learn about the internal auditor profession and self-assess their competencies against the role.
- A selection test used in the recruitment process.
